During our visit to Peru we had a trip to Rainbow Mountain included in our itinerary. Guess we were lucky that the weather cooperated as I wouldn’t have liked to do it in rainy weather. Its a hard hi…Full review by perh281

We booked a tour to come see Rainbow Mountain although I have been made aware you can do it by yourself - I'd always go with a tour though. The climb up wasn't too challenging for me or my boyfriend,…Full review by Traveller162014
Is there really a hike up Rainbow mountain that is only 40 minutes? What company? How long is the drive from Cusco?

Search for Valencia Travel, we arranged our glamping with them. Food, tent and portable restroom near the site was setup for us. We love the treatment and the whole experience with the guide, chef and the driver. 40 minutes is possible if you are accustomed to hiking in high elevation and cold. In my case it was challenging than climbing the Montanas mountain in Machu Picchu. The drive from Sacred Valley to the site was around 3 to 4 hrs.
Hi, Jill. What would you like to know about this attraction? Where is this new hike and how can I book it?!!

Whos jill? Hahaha Rainbow Mountain has an elevation of 5100m above sea level. Higher than Machu Picchu. So i strongly suggest to be acclimatized before climbing. Get a prescription from your doctor of acetazolamide or diamox. We didnt experience any altitude sickness during our entire stay. The new route is less than an hour of hike. So much easier than the old route. Check my YouTube channel under chad noval for videos. I flew my drone here. Dress warmly as the weather up there is cold.
