The Edmonton Oilers have switched goaltenders for Game 3 of their second-round playoff series against the Vegas Golden Knights, with Stuart Skinner replacing Calvin Pickard on Saturday night.
Pickard spent the past two seasons in that role behind Skinner, but he is now on the verge of making his fifth consecutive start in the postseason and beginning an NHL playoff series as the starter for the first time.
The Golden Knights’ first selection in the 2017 expansion draft is now starting against them for the Oilers in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
