New Game of Thrones Series Gets Franchise Worst RT Score Among Debut Seasons
HBO’s newest Game of Thrones spinoff is making headlines, but not exactly for the reason fans might expect. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has debuted to solid reviews, though it currently holds the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of any series in the franchise.
But A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which premieres January 18, is cut from a different cloth. A rougher, stinkier cloth. It’s an approach that perfectly suits the source material, George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas—and it makes for a wonderfully entertaining TV show that explores Westeros from an entirely new point of view.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is undoubtedly the lightest Game of Thrones show yet. Admittedly, that's not a high bar to clear, given that both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon are brimming with heavy subject matter. With their graphic depictions of violence and sexual assault, they're not at all suitable for young audiences.
