PhysX, Nvidia's physics engine, will finally lose support in RTX 50 series cards, in a move to remove 32-bit CUDA application support on its latest graphics cards. Removing PhysX support means that some games from the 2000s and early 2010s will lose part of the way they implement particle and clothing effects.

Nvidia’s RTX 50-series GPUs are just around the corner, with the first releases — the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 — dropping on January 30th. NVIDIA confirmed the preorder date on X/Twitter through its official NVIDIA GeForce (@NVIDIAGeForce) account. The succinct post says they'll be available "from OEMs," though it doesn't specific which ones, instead saying, "Stay tuned for more details!"
