Alex Bregman took the field for the first time as a Red Sox Saturday morning at Fenway South. Alongside Trevor Story and others, he took batting practice and took grounders, moving between shortstop and second base — the latter of which could be his full-time home for the first time in his major league career.

The Red Sox’ three-year, $120 million signing of the two-time All-Star was finalized and announced by the team on Saturday. Additionally, Boston shared that Bregman will wear No. 2, joining the likes of Jerry Remy, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Xander Bogaerts as players who’ve worn that number with the Red Sox.
