Rising American tennis star Taylor Fritz, currently number five in the world, is set to face 26th seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina later on Friday for a place in the Wimbledon fourth round.

Fritz has faced Davidovich Fokina twice already in 2025, and the two are 1-1 against each other. Fritz defeated Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at the Eastbourne tournament, before Davidovich Fokina won 7-6, 7-6 at Delray Beach.

One of the few Americans who escaped mass carnage over the first two rounds of action in London, Fritz is coming off a pair of marathon five-setters and got a much-needed break Thursday ahead of his third-round bout with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on Friday after being on court three consecutive days due to extended matches.
