The Joaquin Phoenix war film Buffalo Soldiers was considered so controversial, it wasn't released until two years after it premiered.

As part of Black History Month, the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center is featuring Snead’s collection until Feb. 28.

The film examines the racial tensions that existed between the black soldiers and some of the white soldiers and the truths about the Indian invaders.
