Chicago police are investigating a string of stabbings on CTA property after a man was seriously wounded early Sunday on the Red Line, marking the fourth such attack in five days.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, officers were called to the 7500 block of North Paulina Street around 11:25 a.m. Monday. There, they found an unidentified 58-year-old woman unresponsive aboard the train, and she was pronounced dead shortly afterward. Police told the paper that Area 3 detectives are handling the investigation.
This comes as one North Side alderman is calling for people not use public transit at night until CTA can prove it's safe.
