Billionaire Elon Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is ripping through the federal government's agencies at a breakneck pace, to the horror of former government officials, who have been relegated to the sidelines.

U.S. DOGE Service workers embedded in the Education Department have been processing sensitive agency data using artificial intelligence.

DOGE has gained access to government employees' sensitive information via the Office of Personnel Management, payment systems at the Treasury Department and Centers for Medicaid and Medicare this week.
