The union representing striking King Soopers workers has denounced a lawsuit filed by the grocery chain that calls the workers' actions "unsafe." The union said King Soopers was trying to "silence its own workers.

The start of a two-week-long strike by thousands of Colorado King Soopers workers meant people on the picket lines and shoppers either choosing to cross those lines or avoiding King Soopers in favor of other grocery stores.

As thousands of King Soopers union members are on strike after failed negotiations, the grocery giant filed a lawsuit against the union on Friday.
