Another American soldier has died after a "controlled explosion" of an Iranian drone. The US military confirmed on Sunday night that a serviceman had been killed, with US Central Command describing it as "a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone".
The United States intensified its strikes targeting Iran early Thursday, hitting targets further north as American forces also fired into a ship it accused of trying to break its naval blockade on the Islamic Republic.
Iran launched missiles toward the Jordanian city of Aqaba, near Eilat. Air raid sirens sounded in the city, while residents of Eilat reported hearing explosions.
The US-Iran conflict has entered a more dangerous phase, with Tehran warning that if it cannot export oil, no other country in the region will either, raising fears over the security of the Middle East's energy supplies.
