After many delays, the SS United States​ is scheduled to leave South Philadelphia again. This time on Monday, Feb. 17.

The historic ocean liner will first be towed from Pier 82 to Pier 80 on Friday afternoon. After the weekend, it will be pulled down the Delaware River.

After being docked in South Philly for nearly three decades, the SS United States has the greenlight from the U.S. Coast Guard to travel to the waters off the Florida panhandle, where she’ll aid the environment as the world’s largest artificial reef.

For the third time, the hulking, historic SS United States is set to leave Philadelphia. Tentatively, the ship will move from Pier 80 to 82 at high tide Friday, Feb. 14, around 2:45 p.m. On Monday, Feb.
