A 6.7 magnitude earthquake occurred Friday afternoon local time off the northern coast of Japan, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. The earthquake comes after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck the same region earlier this week.
A powerful earthquake of 6.7 magnitude struck northeast Japan on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports.
The Japanese Meteorological Agency said the quake struck off Hokkaido and issued an alert for a tsunami of up to 10 feet.
