Washington – The Washington Commanders have acquired wide receiver Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers for a fifth-round pick, pending a physical, according to a person with knowledge of the trade.

The Washington Commanders were able to upset the Detroit Lions in the postseason at Ford Field. In 2025, the Lions will head out on the road to face a Commanders squad that just reportedly added another offensive weapon for quarterback Jayden Daniels.

The 49ers agreed to trade Samuel to the Commanders for a fifth-round draft pick Saturday during the NFL Scouting Combine. Samuel, 29, announced during Super Bowl week that he had requested a trade.
