Edmonton Oilers fans are beginning to realize goalie Stuart Skinner's issues with lateral movement in the crease.

NHL insider Pierre LeBrun pointed to Edmonton Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner’s poor form as one of the reasons for the team’s skid.

On Thursday, the Edmonton Oilers lost 4-3 to the Florida Panthers. It was their fifth straight loss since Feb.7.

Following a playoff run in which he helped lead the Edmonton Oilers to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers, most thought it was a no-brainer that Stuart Skinner would be a part of Canada’s roster for the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.

The Edmonton Oilers need some big upgrades this season, but according to GM Stan Bowman, that upgrade won't be coming in the form of a new goaltender, as the team are reportedly set to stick with Stuart Skinner moving forward.

Think the Edmonton Oilers have it bad right now? Try being in Stuart Skinner’s skates. Sure, as a team, they’re stumbling and bumbling into the final third of the schedule on a season-high five-game losing skid in which they have been outscored 26-14.

Skinner will patrol the road crease Tuesday against the Lightning, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV.
