Prosecutors say they have nearly dismantled a South Philadelphia-based street gang that allegedly victimized dozens of people through a series of shootings, carjackings and other crimes. The District Attorney’s Office announced 11 arrests Friday,

"It's like shattered - my whole world is," said Shella Sitthirath. "That was my mom, but it's okay. We're here. We'll get through it."

The District Attorney's office said they arrested members of three different gangs that were at war with each other in the streets of the city.

Authorities say a 64-year-old woman was struck by a Ford F-150. She was transported to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. Investigators say the 59-year-old man driving the truck first hit another vehicle, before reversing and striking the woman on the sidewalk.

The luxury liner SS United States departed South Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon to begin a two-week journey to its eventual destination as the world's largest artificial reef off Florida's Gulf Coast.
