Mercedes CLA unveiled with 500-mile electric version
Mercedes has revealed the all-new CLA, which could be the most capable electric car on the road in 2025. The fresh model will be available with both hybrid-petrol and electric powertrains. The latter will have a range of almost 500 miles. Hybrid versions will also be super efficient, using a new 1.5-litre petrol engine capable of more than 50mpg.

New Mercedes CLA is a game changer for electric cars
The new CLA also marks a change in strategy for Mercedes. Rather than have different line-ups for electric cars – badged EQ – the CLA is available as an EV with two versions and a full hybrid with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine and small battery. In a further twist, Mercedes has said that both petrol and EV models should be priced similarly.
