The Senate is plowing ahead toward a final vote on President Trump's sweeping tax and immigration bill, as Republicans rush to get it across the finish line by July 4.

Today’s vote in the U.S. Senate, on Trump’s big bill, was dramatic. In the chamber, it was even more so. The Senate passed its version of President Trump’s massive tax cut and spending cut bill by the narrowest of margins, 51-50. Vice President JD Vance had to break the tie.

Vice President JD Vance provided the tie-breaking vote to get Trump's bill across the finish line. It now must go back to the House for approval.
