The arrest of a Wisconsin judge may have a chilling effect on the courts, experts say, even if the charges are justifiable.

Hannah Dugan, a Milwaukee county judge who was arrested last week on charges that she obstructed federal authorities from detaining an undocumented immigrant in her courtroom, has been suspended by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Last week, federal agents arrested Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan for allegedly "obstructing or impeding" federal immigration enforcement and allegedly "concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest.

The judge hammered Apple for violating a ruling over restrictions in its App Store. The case was referred to federal prosecutors for a criminal contempt investigation.

But in 2021, United States District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Roger largely ruled in Apple’s favor and even ordered Epic to pay Apple lost revenue.
