Taiwan on Monday said it had closed a probe into pagers that exploded in Lebanon in September and caused a deadly blow to Iran-backed Hezbollah, saying no Taiwanese citizens or companies were involved.

Taiwan investigators said Monday there was no evidence that Taiwanese individuals or firms were involved in a deadly September attack targeting Hezbollah communications devices which exploded in Lebanon.

Taipei prosecutors say no Taiwanese citizens or companies were involved in the exploding pager attack against Hezbollah members in October, which killed 12 people. They said the pagers were manufactured and shipped outside of Taiwan by a firm called Frontier Group Entity,

The blasts dealt a severe blow to the Iran- backed Hezbollah militia amid its conflict with Israel.Taiwan said on Monday it had closed an investigation into the September pager attack on Lebanon's Hezbollah militia without finding evidence of any involvement of Taiwanese firms or individuals.
