The death toll from catastrophic floods in Texas reached at least 78 on Sunday, including 28 children, as the search for girls missing from a summer camp continued and fears of more flooding prompted evacuations of volunteer responders.

At least 82 people are dead and at least 41 more are missing after devastating flash floods slammed Texas Hill Country, with water rescues taking place along the Guadalupe River, which rose rapidly early Friday morning to the height of a two-story building.

At least 41 people are missing statewide as of late Sunday afternoon, officials said. President Trump has signed a disaster declaration for Kerr County and the Federal Emergency Management Agency is on the ground there,
