Lionel Messi and Inter Miami were knocked out of the Club World Cup Round of 16 by European champion Paris Saint-Germain in dominant fashion 4-0 on Sunday. It was PSG’s third clean sheet in its last four matches.

In Messi's first season with the club, he had 11 goals and 14 assists in 34 games, most of which coming during the French domestic league, though he did score five goals in seven matches in the Champions League. PSG was eliminated by Real Madrid in the Round of 16 in the Champions League run.

Inter Miami sits seventh in the Eastern Conference with 29 points (8-3-5), but holds four games in hand on most MLS teams after playing in the FIFA Club World Cup. Miami dropped out of the tournament in the round of 16 last Sunday with a 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
