The Tesla CEO heavily criticized the One Big Beautiful Bill that’s working its way through the U.S. Senate, and the president retaliated once again by threatening to remove subsidies on Musk’s companies and cancel contracts for Tesla and SpaceX.

Sales of Tesla electric cars fell sharply in the last three months compared to a year earlier as boycotts over Elon Musk’s political views continue to keep buyers away.

Tesla is headed for another year of shrinking sales after it posted a second straight drop in quarterly deliveries, dragged down by CEO Elon Musk's right-wing political stances and an aging vehicle line-up that has turned off some buyers.

Tesla also said that it delivered a total of 384,122 vehicles, including 373,728 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, as well as 10,394 other vehicles — a 14 percent decline compared to the second quarter of 2024, when it delivered 443,956 vehicles.
