Despite some harsh criticism, the Dallas Cowboys have taken NFL free agency far more seriously in 2025 than they did in 2024. That was evident with one of their earliest moves, which was coming to terms with running back Javonte Williams.

Javonte Williams and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $3.5 million, according to a league source. Williams, who turns 25 in April, spent his first four NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos. His best season came as a rookie in 2021 when he ran 203 times for 903 yards and four touchdowns.

The Dallas Cowboys continued their bargain bin shopping as NFL free agency officially opened at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Dallas agreed to a one-year deal with Bears linebacker Jack Sanborn.

Adding depth on both sides of the ball certainly helps, but the Cowboys will need starting caliber talent added to the roster.
