The Red Sox could move forward with Arenado at third, Devers as their DH and Casas at first base for the three years remaining on Arenado’s contract without disrupting anything related to the development of Campbell, Marcelo Mayer or Roman Anthony. That’s no small thing in the attempt to get more functional.

The Boston Red Sox still need another right-handed bat in the lineup, and could potentially fill that void with a trade for St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado.

In a trade pitch from Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer, the Red Sox would have to give up their right fielder, Wilyer Abreu, and their right-handed pitcher, Cooper Criswell. Before acquiring Garrett Crochet, Boston was in on trading for other starters.
