Jrue Holiday doesn't rack up a ton of steals or blocks, but there is no player more important to the Celtics' stingy defense -- or their hopes to beat the New York Knicks and repeat as champions.
The 34-year-old guard hasn’t played since Game 2 of the Celtics’ five-game first-round series win over Orlando. Holiday’s defensive versatility could be especially valuable against the Knicks, as he’d be a likely option to draw the assignment of guarding New York star guard Jalen Brunson.
"Holiday will receive the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Trophy for his efforts to drive economic empowerment through philanthropy and creative capital deployment. $100K to be donated to the Jrue and Lauren Social Impact Fund (JLH fund)," posted the official social media account of the NBA.
