The Holiday Lake Estates community is still rebuilding after last year’s severe flooding. On April 26, 2024, heavy rain and strong winds led to flooding and left many parts of East Texas with damages.

Dennis Howard was a beloved artist in Wood county, and artists are continuing his legacy by dedicating a mural to him.
