Xcel Energy said it will temporarily shut off power to about 180 customers across the South Plains on Tuesday to reduce wildfire risk.

Originally, the county reported power would be shut off at 10 a.m. and advised customers to prepare for up to 72 hours without power.

According to the company's outage map, 82 outages are affecting 6,893 customers across the metro as of 10:58 p.m. on Monday.
