✨ BEACH COTTAGE TRAVEL DAY ✨ With only weekends to get this renovation done, these little travel days just about every Friday have become their own tradition. There’s a familiar rhythm now with it. . .packing up the car, school pickup, Willow and Winston becoming travel kitties, the drive we know by heart, and arriving right at that soft evening light just in time for dinner. These travel days mark the beginning of each little renovation chapter, and I realized I’ve never shared what they feel l

What started out as stucco repair, turned into wanting to add an outdoor shower, turned into let’s paint a mural while we’re at it. Giving resort vibes and I’m all about creating a permanent staycation feeling. The full tutorial for painting an outdoor mural is on the blog, the materials used, how to design a mural, and so much more! www.withinthegrove.com | Within the Grove

We officially have a greenhouse!!! Even though the garden is a hot mess around it, can’t help but smile big time at this garden addition and the fact it’s sitting on a concrete slab we installed. 🤯 What a fun week it was getting this built. Up next for the garden: tackling the garden boxes and getting all my seeds started! ** This greenhouse is a kit from Costco! SUPER impressed with the quality, ease of the build, and how it turned out. | Within the Grove

The first few weekends at the beach cottage went from deep cleaning every square inch, to discovering the attic was a time capsule full of furniture, to discovering a cockroach infestation in the attic. Will we take back the attic and our beachside retreat?! Stay tuned! | Within the Grove

Did you know you can grow a pineapple from the top of the pineapple you’d normally toss out!? Here’s how: • Twist or cut off the top of a pineapple • Peel back a few layers of leaves to expose the base • Place the top in a cup of water near a sunny window (indirect light is best) • Wait a few weeks for roots to grow, then plant in a pot or in the ground (zones 9–11 are ideal for in-ground!). It can take 18 months- 2 years for the first pineapple to grow. Patience is key here. But after that, the

We picked paint color number 1! Thank you to all those who voted to help make the decision. With the future porch design, it feels like the best choice. Now, to get the last part of the exterior painted. . . But with a paint sprayer. | Within the Grove

Greenhouse concrete slab is done! Where’s there’s a will, there’s a way. We’ve never done this before and really proud of the results! Honestly, the hardest part was the prep work and making sure it was all level. Then it was just mix, pour, and go. Up next: time to start building the greenhouse. | Within the Grove

It’s finally happening!! We’re replacing the beach cottage siding that literally a new piece falling off every week. We had no idea what to expect underneath (prepared for the worst) but certainly didn’t expect the two surprises we ran into: plaster on the exterior and the amount of framing. But everything looks great! This is all so exciting!!! The crew stopped here and up next are the windows and door install where we’ll pick back up on the siding afterwards. Not so much the little blue beach
