The sacred fire of the Damara tribe was lit at around 05h00 on Saturday morning at Khorixas, Kunene Region, by Gaob Justus |Uruhe ||Garoeb. The fire is a traditional symbol to call upon tribal ancestors, such as the late Gaob Goreseb and others, for forgiveness as well as to plead for prosperity and blessings amongst the Damara clans.
