People often ask us why CSFD responds to hit gas lines. Today was a great example of that. CSFD responded to a residential area at Thornhill Drive where construction crews hit a gas line. While Engine 15 and Truck 19 were working to clamp the line, the gas from the line ignited. Crews were able to keep the fire in check and from spreading to nearby homes. Thankfully no injuries were reported. The line has been clamped and the fire was extinguished. Colorado Spring Utilities is on scene repairing
