40 days. 40 god damn days. That’s the median survival time for dogs with splenic hemangiosarcoma (HSA) without chemotherapy. Hugo’s results came back. The tumor on his spleen was cancerous - a hemangiosarcoma. To make matters more grave, the liver biopsies were also consistent with hemangiosarcoma, making Hugo in Stage III of this horrible cancer. We’ve chosen not to pursue chemo, as it only increases his days by roughly 100, and Hugo would hate the weekly veterinary visits and blood draws. I wa
