It’s the start of one of the oldest lenten rite in the Philippines, the Moriones Festival in Marinduque. One of the significant symbols of this tradition is the Morion (moryon) mask as they re-enact the story of Longinus from the crucifixion of Christ. Morion mask making is both an art and devotion.
