Demolition is still not underway on the Clifton Railway Bridge this afternoon following issues after tension cables running through the bridge were cut resulting in bridge movement. | Penrith Town

Work has progress overnight on the demolition of the 60 year old Clifton Railway Bridge over the M6. Then central span of the bridge has now been completely demolished with work progressing on the demolition of the two smaller spans from the embankments. Network Rail has also extended a Huge thanks to residents for bearing with the very noisy process” As the demolition continues its drawing crowds of locals and visitors to Clifton with Network Rail having to put a safety exclusion zone in place
