The sun will continue to shine, just a little brighter today. It is with great sadness and honor that we share the passing of our sweet eastern red bat floof Scrappy Doo. He passed away in his sleep at the age of 7 years old. He was curled in his butt blanket, under his leaves in the bottom of his enclosure. We suspect he passed away due to age related issues. This Eastern Red Bat 🦇 came into our care because rescuer noticed it laying in their driveway. She boxed it up and called us. Upon inspection we think maybe what happened is it came out of hibernation to early and got cold, couldn’t fly and then got attacked by a cat. Wounds on its belly, wing and head.
