University of Maryland’s graduating class of 2025 had the one and only Kermit the Frog as their commencement speaker. The speech — written and spoken by puppeteer Matt Vogel, who has performed Kermit since 2017 — paid tribute to the late Jim Henson, creator of “The Muppet Show” and a graduate of the University of Maryland class of 1960. #kermit #maryland #graduation

here's a snippet of my live stream giving a breakdown of Kermits voice from Henson to Whitmire to Vogel. Please note that I love and respect Matt Vogel as a Muppet performer, but as a performer of Kermit, and some people's confusion as to why the voice doesn't sit well with them. I've included him as well. #kermit #muppets #kermitthefrog #puppet #puppets #puppeteer #popular #fypage #learn #education #themoreyouknow #voice

IMPORTANT: this is not a video to say that one voice is better than the others. Doing that will give Matt Vogel an unfair disadvantage since we haven’t gotten a chance to get used to his Kermit Like Steve’s. No one out there is like Jim Henson, even Steve isn’t perfect, I just want to show the evolution of Kermit’s voice. Thank you for reading #kermitthefrog #themuppets #jimhenson #stevewhitmire #mattvogel

Music on Instagram: "Kermit the Frog competed on the season 5 premiere of The Masked Singer in March 2021. He sang Hall & Oates’ “You Make My Dreams” but was the first celebrity unmasked. Kermit’s puppeteer, Matt Vogel, was inside the costume. The Masked Singer is a reality competition show where celebrities perform songs while disguised in elaborate costumes that hide their identities, keeping viewers and panelists guessing until they’re revealed."

Explaining on Instagram: "The original voice of Kermit the Frog was created and performed by Jim Henson 🐸 Henson voiced Kermit from the character’s early television appearances in the 1950s through the height of The Muppets’ success in the 70s and 80s. His calm, slightly nasal tone and gentle personality became instantly recognizable around the world. After Henson’s passing in 1990, the role was taken over by Steve Whitmire, who voiced Kermit for nearly three decades, and later by Matt V

I always loved how similar yet so different each successor puppeteer is to thr previous one. And while yes, Matt’s Kermit is not my favorite, he’s still a damn great puppeteer, his Big Bird and Uncle Deadly are immaculate #muppet #muppets #themuppetshow #themuppets #kermitthefrog #misspiggy #fozziebear #jimhenson #rowlfthedog #oscarthegrouch #sesamestreet #frankoz
