The legend of the Astronomical Clock in Prague seems to have come straight from the Brothers Grimm. https://bit.ly/3AImr2M Legend says that the 15th-century Prague Councilors feared that the great clockmaker Mikuláš would make another, better clock for another town, so they had him blinded. Driven mad by blindness, the clockmaker threw himself into the cogs of his own masterpiece, forever cursing anyone who tried to fix it.
