Some bunker work with my friend Camilo Villegas. He asked about the best way to play out of a lie where there is not much sand beneath the ball and the lie is firm. With too much loft, you need to swing harder and your landing zone becomes significantly smaller. I show Blair Wheeler how to practice with clubs with lower loft – try using your normal bunker technique but play it with an 8 iron and see how the results differ.
