New method for writing the Drenjongke (Bhutia) language with simplified Roman and Phonetic scripts released at Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, today. A booklet explaining the new method was released by Minister, Sonam Lama. Starting from 2016, the method was developed over several years through a community effort, involving Bhutia language teachers and students, under the guidance of Prof. George Van Driem, Chair of Historical Linguistics at the University of Bern, Switzerland. #sikkimchronicle
