A herd of some 100 wild red deer, a nationally protected species, have been spotted in Baiyinxile, a part of the Xilingol National Grassland Nature Reserve in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Aerial footage shows the animals roaming freely, foraging and resting, bringing vivid signs of life to the winter landscape.
