“Over Wheatfields” - Painted in acrylic on a preserved magnolia leaf 🌾 I studied wild wheat for a scientific illustration class years ago, and I’m still fascinated by this fact: the seeds can “dig” into the ground and plant themselves! The outer casing is shaped in such a way that as rain makes it swell and then dry, it works its way deeper into the soil. I just think that’s the coolest thing!!
